Medium-density polyethylene (MDPE) pipes have gained popularity in the plumbing and water distribution industries for their durability and flexibility. Installing MDPE pipes requires precision and polyethylene pipe fittings, ensuring leak-free connections.

Before starting, ensure you have the necessary materials, including MDPE pipes, polyethylene pipe fittings, pipe cutters, pipe inserts, and barrier pipes.

Measure and mark the MDPE pipe at the desired length. Use a sharp pipe cutter to make a clean, square cut. Ensure the amount is free from burrs and debris.

Place a pipe liner or insert it into the MDPE pipe's end. This liner maintains the shape of the pipe and prevents it from collapsing when using polyethylene pipe fittings.

Smooth and bevel the pipe ends using a file to ensure proper seating in the fittings. Avoid rough or sharp edges that could damage the O-rings in compression fittings.

Select the appropriate polyethylene pipe fittings for your specific needs. Common types include couplers, equal tees, reducers, and end caps.

For compression fittings, slide the nut and O-ring onto the pipe. Insert the line into the fitting and tighten the nut by hand, followed by a quarter-turn with a wrench. Ensure a secure, watertight connection.

Before burying the MDPE pipes, conduct a pressure test to check for leaks or weak connections. Apply pressure using a test pump and inspect for any issues.

Once confident in the system's integrity, you can bury the MDPE pipes at the recommended depth, ensuring they're protected from damage and frost.
