Prioritizing Sustainable suppliers - dulux

Dulux Cork are a long-established paint partner of Cork Builders Providers. As our main paint supplier, Dulux have led the way in the industry while on their own sustainability journey through recent initiatives such as:

  • Cork site no longer manufactures solvent products and is a 100% water-based manufacturing site.
  • Continued R&D in the manufacturing process to significantly reduce the VOC content in their product offering with the new Airsure range now 99.9% VOC free.
  • Durable paint ranges to extend the repainting maintenance cycle & reduce the consumer carbon footprint.
  • Increased levels of renewable energy used for onsite operations.
  • New recyclable packaging made from up to 50% recycled materials.
  • Water washing’ system in their Cork site recycles the wash down water into the next production cycle.
  • Investments into low energy manufacturing machinery.

Energy consumption reductions on site

  • Across all our branches, all lighting has been changed to LED delivering a 30% reduction in costs and all locations are powered by 100% renewable energy.

  • By the end of 2023, we will have installed an 84.2 KWp Solar PV system in Togher, generating most of the daily electric requirements for the site.
